Sharon Amick is recognized for her skills of strategy and vision. She succeeded Natalie Kaplan, the founder of Carriage House, and has led the center through tremendous growth, charting a path for the future. Sharon shares her leadership skills with others through her work mentoring and on advisory councils, including the Keystone STARS advisory board and the Career and Technical Education, Early Childhood Education Program for Pittsburgh Public Schools. Sharon has cultivated an environment of mutual respect at Carriage House, transcending the relationships between the children and teachers as well as the teachers and parents. Sharon shares, “What I value most in this career are the relationships we build among us—educators, administrators, children and families. By focusing on building strong relationships we learn to respect and value each other’s needs, differences, and ideas.”
